Between April 17 and May 7, 1979, then 13-year-old musician and artist Christian Aebi typed out his personal history of pop music – a 134-page A4 manuscript filled with reflections, rankings, and reverence. The text is richly illustrated with Aebi’s own drawings and photographs clipped from magazines, offering a vivid portrait of his early passion and deep engagement with the music of the time.
In an extensive “best-of” list, he rates 571 bands of the era, assigning grades from 1 to 8 – a subjective chart that captures both youthful enthusiasm and very critical musical insight.
